Now that Summer is gone, my Saturday routine has gone back to spending my Saturdays on my comfortable couch, in front of the TV or immersed in a book, magazine or Tumblr feed. All Summer, Mike and I have spent every weekend in Brooklyn with our crew going to BBQ's, day events and backyard parties - which (you guessed it) include lots of food, drinks and bullshit on repeat. And when I say every weekend this Summer, I mean every weekend this Summer. It's so much fun in NYC during that time of the year that the lack of sleep and weight gain doesn't even matter.
But once the weather beings to cool and we transition into Fall, the weekend Summer parties slowly begin to fade, and we dwindle down to prepare for when hibernation season (Winter) arrives. It could have been my nurse duties this weekend taking care of a sickly Mike, but this weekend was our first weekend in since the beginning of Summer, and it felt so good. It was great - we slept in, took things slow and wore our pajamas all day.
I love Saturdays because it is my productive lazy day. On Saturday I wake up early to run errands, do laundry and Mike helps me clean the house. It felt really good to chill out after doing chores instead of getting ready to go out after a morning of light labor. And now that SNL is back, it makes staying in Saturday nights even more fun! The cast this season is so spectacular it's...funny. I'm excited to see how the rest of the season will pan out.
I will miss Summer, but I also look forward to more Saturdays spent indoors.
Time to work on creating more ideas for the next season!
xoxo
